Knowledge Base and Concept Extraction
The Smart Data services elaborate on concepts and concept groupings. Concepts are ideas or objects. Several concepts may be contained in a category because categories are less specific than concepts. You are not limited by a fixed number of categories or concepts. We only show a subset of all available data, but can expand the results.
Our knowledge base is continually discovering new categories and concepts. All concepts and categories may be identified and accessed by either of two identifiers: a numerical ID or a string title. Our update-to-date knowledge base helps you find the new and trending areas of your business.
Smart Data services are most effective when building on the concepts identified by the Smart Content services. Concepts identified by Smart Content can be expanded into related concepts, popularity, and inferred concepts.
The Smart Data extracts concepts based on the text input, and shows the concept relationships. The direct concepts are listed with concept ID and title. The related concepts have a title, ID, and a scored and ordered list called “Distance”. The distance score is a measure of the importance to the keywords entered.
Out of all the related concepts, we implement content intelligence to determine which concepts are most widely used. The merged related concepts are important new areas to explore for business opportunities.
You can measure of the popularity of a given concept by day, week, or last 30 days. The popularity is calculated by the frequency of the concept in Wikipedia.
From the original input, the concepts are sorted and scored. The highest scores are for the concepts that have a higher rank compared to the other concepts in the list.
Inferred Category Relationships
We uncover hidden or inferred relationships between categories and keywords. Given a set of keywords, this service returns a list of category IDs category titles, and their scores. Category scores are obtained from Data Ninja’s proprietary algorithm. Level 1 is the most specific category level and level 3 the most general. Several concepts may be contained in a category because categories are less specific than concepts.
Out of the box, we offer up to 100 categories, if the content has that many categories.
